In spring 2026, Real Life Church was preparing for one of its most important times of the year. Easter brings increased attendance, visiting families and many people experiencing the church for the first time. Before those visitors arrived, the church wanted its heavily used public spaces to feel clean, welcoming and ready.

The existing glued-down broadloom carpet was worn, stained and noticeably outdated. Real Life Church needed more than a cosmetic improvement: it needed flooring selected for everyday church use, installed around an active schedule and completed without wasting money on more product than the facility required.

AlphaLife Floors helped the church plan and complete approximately 4,700 square feet of new carpet tile throughout its public areas, offices, hallway, common meeting space, children’s welcome area, children’s rooms and nursing room.

The Challenge: More Than Removing Old Carpet

Much of the existing broadloom carpet had been glued directly to the floor and proved extremely difficult to remove. After removal, the underlying surface needed to be properly prepared before the new flooring could be installed.

One of the most significant areas was a pronounced valley in the central offices. Staff members had noticed the dip and recalled people tripping in that area. Correcting this relatively small section required approximately 100 pounds of patching material to rebuild and level the surface for the new flooring.

This preparation would largely disappear beneath the finished carpet, but it was essential to producing a flatter, more professional and dependable result.

Selecting Flooring for the Way the Church Actually Operates

Cost and long-term performance were major concerns for Real Life Church. Administrator Justin Carter explained that the church wanted to be a good steward of its resources while choosing a floor that would perform well over time.

Rather than pushing the most expensive option, AlphaLife presented several possibilities and helped the church distinguish between products that were appropriate and those that offered more—or less—than the project actually needed.

The selected Revolution Mills carpet tile provided the contemporary appearance the church wanted along with an important practical advantage: individual tiles can be removed and replaced if one becomes damaged or permanently stained.

After the old flooring was removed and the substrate prepared, AlphaLife used Zephyr primer and a releasable carpet-tile adhesive system. This helped create a secure installation while preserving the ability to lift and replace individual tiles later.

Ready Before Easter!

AlphaLife installers worked through the project while coordinating around the church’s schedule and other activity in the building. The priority public areas were completed well ahead of the church’s Easter target, giving staff time to prepare the building before the increase in members, visitors and first-time guests.

New black vinyl base and transitions completed each area and gave the rooms a crisp, cohesive finish.

The result was not simply a newer carpet. The project changed how the facility looked, functioned and felt to the people using it.

“A Huge Upgrade”

In his interview following the project, Justin described the previous flooring as feeling like it belonged in the “1980s or 1990s.” He called the finished project a “huge upgrade” and said it made a “huge impact on our congregation.”

He also emphasized the personal experience of working with AlphaLife:
